“A New Outfit... for a Happy Day”
Because Eid in Palestine takes on a special meaning, and because our children there are the guardians of our dreams and the generation of hope, the Ikha’a and Education Endowment launched the “Eid Clothing” project. We believe that a child’s right to joy is no less important than their right to education, and that wearing a new outfit on Eid morning gives them a sense of confidence and dignity, reminding them that they have brothers and sisters who do not forget them despite the distance.
This project aims to bring smiles to the faces of orphans and children from underprivileged families in Jerusalem, Gaza, and the West Bank. We do not merely distribute clothes; we distribute “joy” and instill “confidence.” At the Waqf, we ensure that children choose their own clothes through “shopping vouchers” or mini-exhibitions, to preserve their dignity and give them the right to choose, just as we do with our own children.
Through your contributions, we clothe these little ones in dignity and joy, transforming the alleys of the camps and the neighborhoods of Old Jerusalem into courtyards of joy, proving that it is our brotherhood that makes the holiday.
